Obesity, fitness and health are clearly societal concerns. They are areas in which an enlightened and active Outdoor Education Centre can have a positive impact, by promoting exercise and healthy eating. Physical exercise is fundamental to our activity programmes and we encourage healthy eating through our varied menu. We try to provide groups with options for most meals ( vegetarian, Halal, vegan and other diets are all catered for).
Evening meals all have a salad option and pasta, rice or jacket potatoes give a change to chips. All our frying is in vegetable oil low in saturated fats. Sweets are usually home made with options of fresh fruit, yoghurt and cheese+biscuits. At breakfast we provide orange juice, cereal, cooked breakfast, toast, and tea/coffee. Our packed lunches ( which are made by our kitchen not by visitors taking time out of their day) have home made sandwiches and home baked cake. We provide fresh fruit and a drink (in your reuseable container, not a throw away one!). Our Souvenir shop sells a limited range of chocolate bars and fruit drinks.
