We recycle waste paper and cardboard, tins and glass. We also try to avoid unnecessary wastage of energy and materials. For example, our change to using reusable lunch boxes for group sandwiches rather than plastic bags has saved on the use of thousands of bags a year.

Healthy Eating

Obesity, fitness and health are clearly  societal concerns. They are areas in which an enlightened and active Outdoor Education Centre can have a positive impact, by promoting exercise and healthy eating. Physical exercise is fundamental to our activity programmes and we encourage healthy eating through our varied menu. We try to provide groups with options for most meals ( vegetarian, Halal, vegan and other diets are all catered for).

Caring for the Environment

A fundamental part of our education role at Arthog is to engage students with the natural world and inspire and empower them towards taking more responsibility for looking after their planet. For schools wanting to do more, we can incorporate a conservation project into the course, qualifying students for a John Muir Award.   www.johnmuiraward.org
